Hey there! I’m Charlotte Renae, and I’m a singer, dancer, actress, writer, and FUN PERSON from the Washington, D.C., area. I began training in the three musical theatre disciplines at age 5. Being raised in an artsy household, I got exposed to a wide range of visual and performing arts, greatly influencing my own creative journey. I’m cross-trained in classical and contemporary voice, allowing me to explore and sing many different styles of music healthily. A soon-to-be graduate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign School of Music with a Bachelor of Musical Arts in Lyric Theatre, I studied under Prof. Yvonne Redman and Prof. Sarah Wigley. I’m excited to see what the future holds with my upcoming move to New York City.

My time in the school of music has been a transformative journey, leading me to explore various kinds of performance outlets. My debut as a songwriter and performer came with the release of my original single, 'Floating,' a lo-fi bedroom pop song, which is now available on all streaming services. My passion for recorded music led me to intern with the prestigious Recording Academy / Grammy’s in the summer of 2023. This invaluable experience paved the way for my selection as a GrammyU Lead Ambassador for the 2023-2024 school year. As part of this role, I had the honor of attending Grammy Week in Los Angeles, CA, in February 2023, where I worked the GrammyU Masterclass featuring Halle Bailey and the Person of the Year Awards honoring Jon Bon Jovi.

I love the entertainment industry, but I don’t let it define me. Over the past few years, I’ve taken the time to learn who I am. What makes Charlotte… Charlotte! I love making Spotify playlists and sorting them into different aesthetics and vibe. Lizzy McAlpine, early 2000’s indie rock, R&B? I’m there. I’m an extroverted, goofy person who values connection and community. My friends mean the world to me. I pride myself on being the person who is constantly hosting wine and cheese nights, will sit on the couch and cradle you, and will be there for you at the drop of a dime.
